                    postural analysis & assessment

As unique individuals, we each have unique musculoskeletal make-ups and therefore unique postures. By assessing and analysing posture, we can identify imbalances that may be the cause of muscular pain.

For example, tight muscles and poor flexibility in one area can cause opposing muscles to stretch and become weak, which can lead to increased pressure on the joints that then leads to pain.

Having a postural analysis can help us better understand contributory factors to particular muscular tension and pain, and can help us make an informed decision about how to try and correct any imbalances, be-it through massage, changing lifestyle factors (i.e. better supporting shoes or mattress) or improving our own postural habits (i.e. driving position, work desk position), or opting for clinical referral, such as seeing an osteopath or physiotherapist.

Posture is assessed from the back, front and both sides. Lifestyle factors are discussed, and advice is given on how best to pursue postural correction through massage treatment, stretching, or via self correction of influencing lifestyle factors.

An assessment is performed with the client standing, in either underwear, swimwear, shorts (and bra for women) and is performed in privacy and with discretion.

Individual treatments are priced as follows:
Assessment (30 mins)
£20
Assessment plus therapeutic massage (90 mins)
£40
Further massage treatments (60 mins)
£25
Book an assessment plus 4 massage treatments to receive discounted prices.

Please note: To maximise the value of the assessment and treatment, and for best results, it is advisable to have a course of massage treatments to help the body return to a natural state of balance and equilibrium.
